Shams Al-anzi (she/her/hers) holds a Bachelors in Nursing degree from Jordan and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. She is currently a Ph.D. student at UBC. She is a registered nurse, nurse specialist, nurse educator, and nursing instructor in the Middle East. She has contributed to the advancement of nursing for years, both in clinical-nursing and undergraduate nursing programs. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing.
Her research focusses on youth living with stigma, stigma-related victimization, (i.e., bullying, discrimination), and stigma-related mental health challenges. She is also interested in highlighting the health needs among youth immigrants during their journey from the Middle East to Canada.
