Jaimie Veale is a Rutherford Discovery Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Waikato. Jaimie’s expertise is in the field of transgender health and wellbeing, and she is the Principal Investigator of Counting Ourselves – the Aotearoa New Zealand Trans Health Survey. From 2012-2015, Jaimie worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at SARAVYC, particularly on the Canadian Trans Youth Health Survey. Jaimie is also Secretary of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the founding President of the Professional Association for Transgender Health (PATHA), and an Associate Editor of International Journal of Transgender Health.
