Daniel Ji received his PhD in social work with a sub-specialization in Measurement, Evaluation and Research Methodology from the University of British Columbia in 2023. He has since completed a postdoctoral fellowship on the healthcare information needs of trans, Two-Spirit and nonbinary youth and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow with SARAVYC working on projects about the sexual health of migrant youth in Canada. His research focuses on how parents and adolescents engage in resisting one another during interactions, and how young people grow in the context of parent-adolescent relationships. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in social work with a specialization in child welfare, and a double major in psychology and family studies from the University of British Columbia. He is a registered social worker who currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Adolescence and is a past recipient of the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-D).
